Exploitation of natural resources such as forests, land, water, and fisheries has caused alarming changes in our natural world in recent decades, harming the most vulnerable who mostly depend on natural resources for their livelihood. Through its Kawambwa Central Environmental Project (KCECP), AAH Zambia has been working with the local communities at Kala Refugee camp to reverse the effects of environmental degradation by replanting the 10-year refugee camp stripped of its vegetative cover by the residing refugees. Inception activities included introducing the project to the district authorities, community mobilisation, sensitisation and training of community members in tree nursery establishment and management.
