Achievements as of September 2015
Our work seeks to address basic health needs of the majority of the population by supporting high-impact interventions. Solar serves as a main source of energy in marginalised areas.
This new innovation is aimed at providing an alternative source of energy especially in the AAH-run health facilities and 24 of these have so far been installed with solar panels and additional 4 with water harvesting pipes and tanks.
By making available lighting on a 24-hour basis, health facilities have registered a sharp increase in the number of births. Other vital services powered include laboratory services, refrigeration of vaccines and other medicines and enhanced security.
The success of our work has largely been as a result of involving the community leadership who have rallied communities as partners in health services provision. Over 24 VHCs (Village Health Committees)have been trained through the project to provide oversight to these health facilities
