District Project Officer

AAH Uganda (AAH-U) is looking for a District Project Officer to coordinate Hoima District technical support to Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in line with the approved project annual work plans in respect to AAH-U programme implementation procedures, policies and guidelines.

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  1. Design, implement and monitor of all project work plans activities in Kyangwali refugee settlement in collaboration with Sector Heads and District stakeholders.
  2. Monitor the collection and dissemination of regular analytical and critical reports including proposals for improvements in the operation and the scope of project activities;
  3. Monitor and report on the progress of the operations and indicators, and contribute to processes to measure, learn from and improve impact in line with donor, AAH and district local government guidelines.
  4. Prepare correspondences, agenda, minutes, event programs, bulletins, success stories, for the purpose of communicating information and/or creating documentation in compliance with established stakeholder and AAH Uganda guidelines.
  5. Assists District line departments on the maintenance of project records including accountabilities and ensure that reports required by UNHCR are accurate and provided as scheduled.
  6. Prepare reports to demonstrate a clear and concise understanding of project progress towards implementation.
  7. Perform any other related duties as required and assigned by the Supervisor.

Best Interest Assessments & Determinations (BID/BIA) Assistant

AAH Uganda is looking for a Best Interest Assessments and Determinations (BID/BIA) Assistant to carry out assessments on children and other child protection related activities while ensuring compliance with relevant child protection standards including child participation in line with AAH-I and donor guidelines.

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  1. Identify children at heightened risk and effect appropriate intervention including alternative care arrangements, birth registration etc.;
  2. Follow-up and monitor individual case status and progressively ensure compliance with the comprehensive child protection strategy;
  3. Coordinate and carry out all best interest assessments and determinations (BIA and BID) process in line with best child protection practice and defined donor and AAH guidelines;
  4. Ensure the implementation of decisions relating to refugee children made by the BID and Psychosocial panels;
  5. Maintain up-to-date individual case files, date and information relating to refugee child protection and progressively generate appropriate periodic reports on trends and activities in line with donor and AAH reporting guidelines.

Nutritionist

AAH Uganda is looking for a Nutritionist to work with other health and community staff to provide nutritional awareness services to the community and patients with nutritional deficits.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  1. Participate in the community outreach services for adequate nutritional awareness promotion
  2. Provide special nutritional advise and services for therapeutic purposes
  3. Capacity build staff and the community groups on proper nutrition
  4. Participate in research activities that will uplift the current nutritional knowledge bank and support the efforts to have a healthy community

Pharmacy Technician

AAH Uganda is looking for a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications in line with Action Africa Help Uganda and Donor guidelines.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Maintain drug store inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
  2. Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy/drug store by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  3. Organize medications for health centres to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; prepare labels; calculate quantities; assemble intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
  4. Maintains records by recording and filing health centre drug orders and prescriptions.
  5. Calculate, record and prepare weekly and monthly utilization reports for drugs from the drugstore/pharmacy in line with AAH Uganda store management guidelines.
  6. Ensure medication availability by delivering medications to patients and health centres in line with AAH and donor guidelines.

Project Support Officer

AAH Uganda is looking for a Project Support Officer to mobilize, supervise and coordinate the interpreters to ensure effective and efficient services for asylum seekers and immigrants in line with donor AAH Uganda guidelines.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Provide regular situational updates on information on project matters that may have an impact on the work of Interpreters and liaise with relevant units with the donor and other stakeholders in line with AAH partnership guidelines.
  2. Prepare regular project reports, updates, programme summaries, success stories and other relevant information materials and statistics according to specific project needs and in line with AAH and donor reporting guidelines.
  3. Assign appropriate interpreters taking into consideration interpreter's availability, training, experience, past performance and familiarity with client's needs in line with AAH Uganda performance management guidelines.
  4. Confirm interpreter assignments with agency and maintain records of assignments in line with project and organisation record management guidelines.
  5. Prepare and submit regular project reports in line with specific donor requirements and AAH reporting guidelines.
