FIELD COORDINATOR, ETHIOPIA 

 

Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Field Coordinator for our Ethiopia country programme.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Management and Coordination:

  1. Overall responsibility for the recruitment and daily management of the field-based program and support teams, including ensuring positive and collaborative working relationships in line with AAH-I-Ethiopia Code of Conduct and assessing staff capacity to provide or recommend relevant training or coaching as needed. 
  2. Daily management of the Field office, including ensuring compliant financial operations and budgeting, administration, human resources, logistics, procurement and security in line with AAH-I-Ethiopia and donor regulations. 
  3. Represent AAH-I publicly at the site level, including in coordination fora with other agencies, and for providing the direct link in communications between AAH-I-Ethiopia field office and the Addis Ababa office.

 

Programming: 

  1. Design and support in conducting needs assessments to inform program design as well as identify risks and vulnerabilities, including those related to gender, age and diversity.  
  2. Contribute to the strategic direction of Gambella's programming through active and ongoing participation in and contribution to strategic planning meetings and development of strategic documents. 
  3. Work with the Head of Programs and finance team to contribute to new project development, including both narratives and budgets, by coordinating and compiling inputs from other technical and support staff.
  4. Ensure the timely and quality delivery of all organizational and project reports and staff contributions to organizational monitoring and evaluation requirements to ensure project quality, relevance and accountability to AAH-I beneficiary populations. 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Masters degree in Public health or social sciences with solid experience both in humanitarian and development projects and minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.
  2. BA/BSC in public health or social sciences with solid experience in humanitarian and development projects and minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
  3. Working Experience with different donors.
  4. Excellent in spoken and written English.

FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION MANAGER, ETHIOPIA 

 

Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Finance and Administration Manager for our Ethiopia country programme.

 

Purpose of the role: The Finance & Administration Manager (FAM) will be a strategic thought-partner, and report to the Country Director. The candidate will lead and develop the country team to support the following areas; finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, administration and IT. The FAM will play a critical role in partnering with the senior management team (SMT) in strategic decision making and operations of Action Africa Help International, Ethiopia.

 

Professional qualifications

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.
  2. A Certified Accounting qualification (CPA-K, ACCA, CFA) with active membership.
  3. MBA/MSC is an added advantage.

 

Minimum relevant experience required

  1. At least 7 years of overall professional experience in financial and operations management. 
  2. A track record in grants management.
  3. Working Experience with different donors – DFID, USAID, EC
  4. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and dedication to the mission of AAH-I 

 

Additional Skills & Competences

  1. Ability to translate financial concepts to- and to effectively collaborate with – programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance back ground. 
  2. Knowledge of various accounting and reporting software. 
  3. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with ability to prioritize negotiate and work with internal and external stakeholders.
  4. A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.

REGIONAL INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER 

 

Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Regional Internal Audit manager to be based in Nairobi or Kampala.

 

Job Summary: Ensure satisfactory performance of the internal controls and systems of the organization, in order for them to facilitate the proper utilisation, recording and reporting of the organization’s resources, and provide advice to the Executive Director and the AAH-I Board of Directors on the same.

 

Expected Outcomes

  1. Accounting and internal control systems constantly reviewed within the whole of the AAH-I, including Head, country and field offices.
  2. Appropriate accounting systems designed and recommendations for improvements provided regularly where necessary
  3. Tests and procedures designed that shall monitor the financial/accounting operations and recommend improvements thereto
  4. Financial and operating information regularly examined including review of means to identify, measure, classify, and report such information.
  5. The economy, efficiency and effectiveness of operations constantly reviewed including non-financial controls of the organization
  6. Constant review of compliance of AAH-I finance and accounting procedures with the relevant laws, regulations and other external requirements and with internal policies and directives and other requirements including appropriate authorisation of transactions
  7. Special investigations undertaken into particular areas (e.g. suspected fraud or misuse of the organisation’s resources)

 

Professional qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business related field. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  2. Professional certification – CPA/CA or ACCA, CFE, CIA and/ or CISA;
  3. Minimum of 5 years’ experience with internal or external audit experience

HEAD OF PROGRAMMES, ETHIOPIA 

 

Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Head of Programmes for our Ethiopia country programme.

 

Purpose of the role: The Head of Programmes is responsible for program development and delivery. The incumbent supports all sector heads and or managers to develop high quality concept notes and proposals and ensures programmes/projects are implemented to the highest standard and are achieving the desired outcomes and impacts. He/she networks with all relevant in-country donors and deputizes for the Country Director as may be required.

 

Professional qualifications

  1. Masters degree in Development or other relevant fields.
  2. Minimum of 10 years management experience in an NGO or a corporate environment, including significant field operations experience running both emergency and development Programmes.
  3. Robust experience of NGO development and emergency Programme cycle management, and with experience of working within a complex and matrix organisation structure.

  2. Previous experience of managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others. 
  3. Commitment to and understanding of AAH-I Values, Vision and Mission. 
  4. Sound experience in working with donors, international organizations and government entities.
  5. A very good understanding of three AAH-I main Programme sectors; health, humanitarian and food security and livelihoods. 
  6. Substantial experience and knowledge of effective monitoring and evaluation of projects, project planning and grant management with experience in managing project supported by major institutional donors.
