AAH Somalia is currently implementing a livelihoods/self-reliance project. This pilot project will initially target women refugees, asylum seekers and members of host community as per recommendations of the rapid assessment conducted by AAH-I and UNHCR in April/May 2013, and the participatory assessment report, October 2013. The pilot will focus on an initial 60 women - 20 asylum seekers, 20 refugees, and 20 host communities. Beneficiaries will primarily be provided with basic start-up capital, while additional capital will be based on business performance, and through what is being referred as money-back-money-added approach (money-back here referring to loan repaid, and money added refers to additional grants released). The first grant is for six months of implementation of this one-year pilot.
