With funding from the Grand Challenges Canada (GCC), AAH Kenya ran a pilot project in Nairobi (Kayole) and Kajiado (Kitengela) counties to test a re-usable water-purifying device in rural and urban settlements in Kenya and India, in partnership with the Institute of Ayurveda and Alternative Medicine in India (AIM-I). Based on the traditional Indian practice of storing water in copper pots, AIM-I  developed a copper coil that has been tested and shown to be effective in laboratory conditions. The study tested its efficacy in, and acceptability by, communities in Kenya and India.
